Two months back, when Elon Musk had tweeted about building a Cyborg Dragon, a non-Elon Musk fan might have looked at it as a silly-overstating-publicity-stunt. Well, the SpaceX CEO has become a person whose Tony Stark-ish statements shouldn’t be mistaken to be comical. Earlier this year, when he had mentioned about an upcoming Zombie Apocalypse and selling flamethrowers, when everyone thought he was joking, he ended up selling 20,000 flamethrowers.

Is Elon Musk's Cyborg Dragon a Tesla?

There has been a lot of speculations regarding his recent tweet. Some think it might be a Mad Max inspired Tesla vehicle, while others feel it could be a new Tesla vehicle in space.

Is Elon Musk's Cyborg Dragon a Tesla?

Here’s my theory:

Musk’s vision of SpaceX is to colonise Mars. SpaceX is currently working on its Mars transportation system with the BFR rocket and spacecraft. The firm’s working on tech that can be used once they get on the planet. It would make sense for Tesla to be involved in developing a new tech for this project.

Breaking down Elon Musk’s tweet ‘Cyborg Dragon Tesla almost done’, what’s ‘Cyborg’?  According to Wikipedia, Cyborg is a fusion of man and machine. It could be a Tesla that will be driven by man on Mars, built using the tech from ‘dragon’ spacecraft.

Will cyborg dragon be a rover that will roam around Mars for research purposes or a will it be a vehicle that man could us commute in between his work and office in Mars? We are yet to find out.
